A scene in a movie I saw sometime ago captured my attention. In that scene, a group of rangers were all in the face of adverse battle, almost loosing to their enemies. Their leader, however, asked them to do something in other to escape the danger before them. She said, "To use magic, you'll have to believe in magic". Immediately the rangers spat the words, "I believe in magic", they began demonstrating different forms of magical powers, to their amazement. It worked for all of them that professed those words except one. (I'll explain why in course of the article). After they said those words, I observed how immediate the effect of those words were. There are many individuals who are easily swayed by the opinion of others. These individuals under such category set the opinion of others as a yardstick for making decisions and moulden their judgements about things in their lives.  If you are an individual that is easily moved by what others think, say or perceive as a standard for something, then you're likely to make certain mistakes in life. You'll either go against yourself, convictions, or principles or you go against that of Christ (as a Christian). We are meant to hold strong the precepts and principles of God's word. We are supposed to be mindful of what Christ thinks and what's best and right not what others think. True modelling isn't only about positioning yourself as a certain kind of individual people would want to emulate. It is presenting yourself in a way that's not just pleasing to yourself or others but to your Maker (God). Do you know that true modelling is a selfless act? For example, you tell yourself, "I want to be a role model for others to emulate or I am a role model; people look up to me". And then you think it is always about you? No, dear. True modelling is never selfish because you have to let go your personal desires you crave for which depicts or promotes wrong living (unhealthy habits, wrong lifestyle, etc) and put on the acceptable way of living irrespective of how difficult it may seem as a human. Christians make prayers to God everyday but not all are having their prayers answered. Many ask and ask, giving God a list of things to do in their life but no answer is coming forth.  Scripture says we should ask and we shall receive but the truth is many do not receive what they ask. You've been calling out to God for an answer yet the answer is far away from you and then you think God is slacking in bringing to pass your prayers according to what His word says or maybe that particular scripture isn't true. No!  If the Bible says ask and it will be given you, it will. It's not that God's word is not true. The problem is probably from you. You're not receiving because you're asking the wrong way. SHIFTED ATTENTION (DISTRACTED) This is when your gaze has been shif1ted and your focus on Christ and His purpose has been marred. It is as a result of allowing other things asides your purpose and assignment seduce you in other to arrest your attention. And by doing that, it causes you to be myopic or even worst, blinded to your visions.  Samson was a victim of this. Everybody is called for an assignment in the earth, we aren't meant to do every thing or do what others are doing simply because it is nice or pleasant. For example, you know you're meant for the ministry, called to take the gospel of Christ to every soul but you divert your full attention to the business industry. In as much as engaging in business is never wrong, don't you think you're missing it? Or maybe you're called into children ministry, maybe for the youths or women but then, you are eyeing a fellow that's an academia or thriving in the entertainment world as a musician. If you go that path, you'll meet unfulfillment and dissatisfaction as you journey through. You are given talents to operate with and yet you envy that of another. It is truly amazing. We live in a world where premarital sex, lust, and diverse sexual vices are thrown at us on the face. Last Sunday's service sparked in my memory an experience I had with a cultist few months back. The sermon, "THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS ANGELS OF PROSPERITY" by my mentor, Pastor Victor Akah cemented my belief in God's total protection, the ministry of His angels and the consciousness of their presence in my life. Arrogance can be perceived. It obviously has an outlook. A person with arrogance can be spotted easily. And that's what you'll find out in today's article.  Let's first look at its origin. ORIGIN OF ARROGANCE Scripture says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So, first of all, I'll love to establish the fact that arrogance is a state of heart.  Whatever you say tells so much about the state of your heart. If you are a deceptive person at heart filled with deception, it will surely reflect on your actions and speech. If you are impure at heart either sexually or morally, one can perceive that from you. So is arrogance. This is how it works; arrogance comes from the heart, expresses itself through the mouth and ends in action.
