THE POWER OF THESE WORDS "I BELIEVE"

A scene in a movie I saw sometime ago captured my attention. In that scene, a group of rangers were all in the face of adverse battle, almost loosing to their enemies. Their leader, however, asked them to do something in other to escape the danger before them.

She said, "To use magic, you'll have to believe in magic". Immediately the rangers spat the words, "I believe in magic", they began demonstrating different forms of magical powers, to their amazement. It worked for all of them that professed those words except one. (I'll explain why in course of the article).

After they said those words, I observed how immediate the effect of those words were. And then, I thought to myself, "what is it about believing that makes wonders viable at the heartfelt profession of that word?"

You don't have to see a deity, thing or being before believing it/he/she can work for you.
Just believing can give you access even if it is new to you. You don't have to sweat it.

Think about it. Just believing strongly in a fetish (native) doctor for solution somehow produces an outcome, though in the negative. People who break coconuts and all just for result somehow gets it, still in the negative.

There are folks who conjure and make enchantments to animate or inanimate things. There are men that talks to a mirror figuratively, to enforce what they want in the physical. Evidently, all these are birthed from a conviction these calibre of people have about those diabolical and fetish things.

All these and more shows that those things work for them because of an unseen force.

Faith!

How about our Christian faith? Scripture shows so much about the one factor that causes things to work for us.

Faith!

The unshaken faith in Christ is what initiated Christianity and the supernatural wonders done in the body of Christ. New birth is fully dependent on this.

That's the power of believing (Faith).

I've found it to be a key for accessing wonders. "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20 (KJV).

He meant, if your faith is as tiny as that seed, it can erupt wonders. Nothing can ever be impossible for you.

For Jesus to make such statement, it means Christians are having their faith unstable. Some of the limitations we face, as regards to what we desire from God, is subject to our unbelief. If only our faith structure is as big as a tiny mustard seed, Christ said, we can access the things tagged impossible by man.

Imagine the faith of people engaging in fetish works and with evil deities are negatively working for them. So why shouldn't it be much more greater in our Christian faith?

Okay, let's look at something that affects our Christian faith.

In my story about the movie, the ranger who didn't get result confessed he believed in magic, but it didn't work for him like the rest of the rangers that confessed it.

Can you fathom why?

See this: in his words, he said, "I guess I believe in magic too".

Do you understand anything from that statement?

He said, "i guess..." meaning his heart had doubts and unbelief scribbled all over it. The words of his mouth and his heart was contradicting at that moment. He said he believe but his heart said otherwise.

That's why Christians aren't getting as much result as we are supposed to.

Confessing and believing in the heart are integral counterparts needed for the result to happen. They work side by side and can't do without the other.

The young man in the movie wondered why he didn't get the result others had. It was evident that he was an unbeliever.

I used that scene at the movie to illustrate how it works in the Kingdom (of Christ).
Believing (in Jesus the Christ, His death, burial, resurrection and ascension) is the result of salvation and many benefits that's attached to it. (John 3:16)

The heart that believes firmly is the source that produce results, meet expectations and enable us permeate impossibilities.

Your heart and mouth have to work together to produce the result.

So, what do you need to do?

You have to feed your heart with the right information (God's word). Those that believe in fetish and diabolic things heard about it from someone. The "hearing" planted a seed and drew them. It ignited a negative kind of faith in them to believe in its power.

It works that way too in Christianity. Scripture says, "faith comes by hearing..."and everything you hear either formulates faith or fear in you.

That's why you need to keep hearing right stuffs and God's word to grow your faith. Any information that puts down the efficacy and importance of God's word will deter your faith and channel it for a wrong cause or purpose. Any confession, statement, information or word that propels fear or stigmatise your faith in Christ should never be given attention.

So dear Christian, study and keep hearing God's word to grow your faith. When you start making use of your "believing" with a heart stored with the right information about God and what He can do, you then can have God work for you with the force of your faith. You can always command situations and access impossibilities too.

A call of salvation

Your life without Christ is futility which will lead to penury and unfulfillment. You need Christ to access His benefits and blessings fully. You need to confess and believe Him with your heart to become a beneficiary of all He wields and wills for you. If you haven't received Him yet, now is the best time to do so.

Just say this prayer of salvation: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I receive you today as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me of all my sins as I repent today. I receive Your Spirit and grace over my life.
Thank You Lord for saving me. In Jesus' Name.

If you made that prayer consciously, Congratulations. You are now born again.
Now, live your life righteously and purposefully in Christ.

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. In case you don't know what Gen Z is, GEN Z (Generation Z) is a term refered to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. It isn't really a professional term used to identify those born in those years but it was coined by few individuals. However, it's use gained wide spread around 2010 to 2015 particularly amongst marketers/advertizers, media outlets, researchers and youngsters especially in social media world. I said something about the previous generation known as the millennials (those born between 1981 to 1996) who didn't really face the problems of the 'Gen Z's. "What could it be? "  Simple, SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE. Prior to the 21st century (2000's), it is recorded that the world was already digitalized but the soci...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
