WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

It's amazing how the scriptures tells a lot of wonderful things about us – our position in Christ, alongside the numerous benefits we are bound to enjoy while standing in these positions. It is truly amazing.

God's Word reveals who we truly are as Christians, not some sort of negative perceptions imbibed in us through traditions, culture, environment, trends, or the picture the world or the devil paints for us to believe and follow. It is not just the biological, racial, or cultural identity we hold in this world. No! It is much more than that.

Our true identity is found in God's word. It holds the revelation of our selfhood. Assuredly, No book in the world can unfold as much as the Word can.

And that is why I'll be showing you from scriptures through the wisdom of the Holy spirit the few identity function you occupy as a child of God. (I say few because I can't possibly exhaust the entire knowledge here. It's a broad one).

So, if you're having an identity crisis or have no atom of idea about who you really are in Christ, tighten your seat belt as we journey through.

FORGIVEN

You need to understand first that you're forgiven. The moment you gave your life to Jesus, confessed Him as Lord, believing in His finished works, and sought His mercy then you're forgiven.

Forgiven simply means PARDONED. Every past indulgence in sin and disobedience has been cleared off. And this is done by the blood of Jesus shed.
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins" (Colossians 1:14).
His blood nulls every sin and terminates every offence.

So, you've been pardoned. No matter the law suit or case brought against you, the blood of Jesus has paid it all for you. It ransomed you from every pinishement or imprisonment the enemy wanted for you.

Hallelujah!

REDEEMED

To redeem simply means to save someone from the power of evil.
Child of God, know this. The devil by no means have the power over you any more. Christ redeemed you with a price– His blood. You don't owe no debt anymore. You now belong to Christ with a seal of ownership on you. So, let no devil deceive you. The price was paid in full. Christ paid it so you may be free from captivity, darkness, doom and destruction.

RECONCILED

"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." (Romans 5:10).

We were once enemies of God. The once perfect relationship man had with God was shattered by the mistake of the first man. But thank God for Jesus who restored us back to God. The Father – Child relationship has been restored between you and your maker. Thank you Jesus.

NEW CREATURE

I'm certain you can recite 2 Corinthians 5:17 so well.
You are brand new in Christ. You now possess a recreated spirit. The old is gone, the new is now your reality and that's because you're in Christ.
Praise God.

CHOSEN

"For you are a chosen generation..." (1peter 2:9). Yes, you are. You were chosen as God's own. Before the foundation of the world, He knew you and predestined you for wonders... Great wonders. You didn't happen by chance neither did your salvation. You are an elect, picked out for Him.

PECULIAR/SPECIAL

I want you to tell yourself, "I am special, I am not ordinary. There's something about me that different and peculiar"
Confess it and begin to see yourself that way because God sees you that way.
Stop degrading yourself or believing less in your potentials and gifts. God Himself laid those potentials in you "...that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." (1 peter 2:9).

HEIRS OF GOD AND CO-HEIRS WITH CHRIST

What a privilege. What a blessing.
Do you know what this means? It means that you are entitled to inherit all God possesses alongside Christ. What an honour.
We are inheritors of the promise, the blessings, the Kingdom.

"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together." (Romans 8:17).

" And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Matthew 5:14 says, "You are the light of the world.." In other words, the world needs you. For light to be identified in a space means darkness exist there.

You show the way. You enlighten men. You rid people of their dark state and erupt change in their lives. You illuminate and lead. Those are the basic characteristics of light, therefore, you are same to the world.

SALT OF THE EARTH

No matter the ingredients used to cook a meal, that meal will be tasteless without salt. It is the most needed ingredient in a every delicacy. It compliments every meal and brings the best out of it.
That's what you are to this earth.

Without you, there's no flavor. No matter what the people of the world does to make the world better; no matter the input, all will lead to failure if there are no Christians present.
As a matter of fact, we are the reason certain things are still intact.

This earth needs us. So, child of God, don't lose your flavor. (Matthew 5:13)

BLESSED

"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world". (Matthew 25:34)
You are blessed of the Father, physically, spiritually, and every wise.
(Galatians 3:39, Ephesians 1:13).

AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST

I earlier mentioned that you've been reconciled to the Father through Jesus but 2 Corinthians 5:18 unveiled that you are also given the ministry of reconciliation. We have this duty to reconcile others to God.

To also represent our Lord and His kingdom on earth by proclaiming His word and bringing His will to accomplishment on the earth.
(See 2 Corinthians 5:20).

Truly, what the word reveals about us is inexhaustible. That is why studying God's word for ourselves is crucial as to know where we stand, our rights and authority.

Many Christians are preyed by the devil, people or circumstances because they dont know who they are.

Dare to find out more. It's inscribed everywhere in scriptures.

Do this and you'll be amazed how beautiful a Christian life ought to be. You'll discover how extraordinary you are.

If you are not a born again, all listed out earlier isn't for you.
You have repent of your sins and consciously confess Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Just say this prayer of salvation if you're such person: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I receive you today as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me of all my sins as I repent today. I receive Your Spirit and grace over my life.
Thank You Lord for saving me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

If you made that prayer consciously, Congratulations. You are now born again.

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

HOW TO BUILD CONFIDENCE WITHOUT LOSING HUMILITY

You know, I truly love the virtue called humility and sincerely admire humble people. But you see folks that are extremely humble yet unapologetically confident — this, I can never resist. I could't help but wonder how they strike the balance until recently. You can see humility yet confidence is an aura they exude. I had to research on it and I discovered the "how-to" behind this amazing twist which I'll be unfolding here.  First off, let's understand this: T here is a thin line between confidence and pride. It takes some level of mastery to avoid breaking that line.  Have you ever tried to be confident but felt like you were being “too much”? Maybe you spoke up during a meeting, posted your small win online, or walked into a room with your head held high, then immediately wondered if you came off as proud. It’s something many struggle with: wanting to believe in themselves without seeming arrogant. Society often makes it worse by mixing up humility with self-dou...

WHEN PURPOSE DOESN'T LOOK POPULAR

One of the basic need of humans is to be seen. The need to be wanted, accepted and approved by others. And in our world today, where visibility and popularity often connotes value, walking in the light of purpose can feel lonely and somewhat insignificant. It seems like everyone is moving faster, shining brighter, and getting noticed.  On the other hand, you who seek to live in obedience to God's instruction per time  don't draw attention. Your purpose looks slow, hidden, or even strange to others. What happens then? The truth is, God’s purpose for your life won’t always look popular. Sometimes, He calls you to build when no one else understands what you’re building. He calls you to walk a path that doesn’t make sense to the crowd. That's not really comforting, right? But understand that there's a difference between living for purpose and living for popularity. Purpose is about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. It’s about obedience, faith, and surrender. Wheth...
