HOW POSSIBLE IS PURITY IN A PERVERSE WORLD?

We live in a world where premarital sex, lust, and diverse sexual vices are thrown at us on the face. Sensual pictures, movies and music that promotes and instigates pornography, masturbation, lesbianism, homosexuality, adultery, rape, lust, etc are rampant, virtually everywhere. It takes advance discipline and utmost reverend for God to be able to resist it.

When you access the internet, its there. When you read through some magazines, its there. What about the television compiled with various TV channels with different commercials, ads, movies, operas, shows, etc, it is in its abundance.

These days, almost everything we view promotes lust. Even ads; mere ads. Those that value their christian faith and purity can't even watch television in peace. You'll have to keep changing and switching channels to guide your eyes against scenes that defiles the mind. Even the streets are cluttered with immodestly dressed women and men. They are on every sidewalk and every corner.

We really are in a world where immorality is sold to everybody that it seems almost impossible to look away and lead the life of purity, not just in body but in mind.

Now, the questions people ask are:

⏩ I desire to live in purity but how can I save myself?

⏩ How can I shield myself against what glares at me on a day to day basis and has literally ravaged the whole world?

⏩ The Bible says we are in the world but not of it as Christians, but how can I protect my mind from buying from this world its fancy and alluring products of immorality and sexual sins?

⏩ How can I be separate and not be found doing what the heathens do both in the secret and in the open?
⏩ And for those already in its dungeon, how can they be free?

In as much as we are in this world but expected not to live like it, there must certainly be a system or principle to observe in other to make purity a reality in our lives.

✅ To answer the above questions, you should know first that you cannot save yourself. You cannot help yourself.
It is Jesus that saves and it is His spirit that gives help to overcome daily temptations.

✅ Secondly, you shield yourself by constantly keeping yourself in check with the word of God. You also put a protective shield over your mind by minding your media diet; the nature of movies you watch, the music you listen to, the novels/magazines you read, your news feed on all your social media handles, etc. The media contains varieties to choose from. You have to be careful and intentional as not to feed on trash.

Scripture reveals in 2 Corinthians 6:17, that we as Christians should separate ourselves from this world's trend because we do not belong to it. Therefore, stay away from all appearances of evil and that includes your friends and environments that depict impurity.

Bible says, "flee youthful lust". It didn't just say run but flee. Because you stand a chance of being encapsulated by it and destroyed if you don't.

Purity in a perverse world is hundred percent possible. Yes, it is. But it is something you must intentionally work on to achieve.

SO, WHAT MUST YOU DO TO LIVE IN PURITY?

✔ You have to first answer the call of purity and decide to lead it. It is a call from God. "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality." (1 Thessalonians 4:3).
"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself..." even in a foreign, defiling environment. (Daniel 1:8).

Can you say NO to the call of impurity from every corner? From the streets, from the media world, from the entertainment world and simply answer this call from our Creator?

Yes, the world is perverted but we can outlive its expectations. But let me ask you? What do you expect from a kingdom ruled by the devil himself? Bible says he is the god of this world. So expect perverse activities to be on vogue because the devil himself (the god of this world) is pervert.

We can only experience a world void of perversion where Christ rules and that's definitely not now because He hasn't come yet. You'll have to wait for His coming to enjoy a sinless world. So, while you await that reality, you have to guide yourself daily, putting your mind on constant check as not to be victimized by this world's trend.

✔ Purity is observed by saying NO to the daily temptations thrown at us. We do this by depending on the grace of whom we serve (God! That is, if you serve Him).

"Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you". (James 4:7).
It says "submit to God" and "resist the devil". That's the way to win.

✔ We have to intentionally and carefully state out how the daily temptations resonates and aligns with our daily struggles and weaknesses as to fight them heads on without being taken unawares.

Temptations shoots itself daily targeting our weak points with the aim to make us fall. However, you have to be able to recognise it when it does and be ready to fight it.

✔ We have to cooperate with the Holy spirit's work in our lives as to scale higher the ladder of sanctification (Holiness) through obedience and God's Word.

Because depending on our own strength or ability to overcome this daily temptations of impurities is futility. You'll only meet a dead end. You can only win when Christ is fully involved and His spirit is always at work in you.

✔ Lastly, always commune with the immortal, Holy and supreme Being (God Almighty).
His glory rubs off on you in the place of communion with Him. His presence suppresses every fleshly hunger for lust and sin and increases your hunger and passion for Him and His kingdom. You retain this connection between you and Holiness, between you and glory, and you carry the aura of heaven as you fellowship with Him.

Oh! What a delight.

If you will apply the tips listed above with prayers, you'll always win the battle for purity and shine this light to the world that claims it is impossible.

PURITY IS A HUNDRED PERCENT POSSIBLE. IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR WILLINGNESS TO DEMONSTRATE IT.

Purity will look impossible to you if you haven't received Christ. If you haven't, I want you to make a simple prayer of salvation genuinely.

Just say this prayer: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I receive you today as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me of all my sins as I repent today. I receive Your Spirit and grace to live a pure life in an impure world. Thank You Lord for saving me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

If you made that prayer consciously, Congratulations. You are now born again.

Depend on His grace to enjoy a beautiful Christian life worthy of emulation.

Shalom!

HE WAITS FOR IT

I love that feeling I get when a person who seeks my downfall gets so disappointed as a result of his planned scheme against me being totally frustrated. I really do love it. It communicates that I can't be touched, harmed or disadvantaged by the enemy. It makes the fact about God being with me evident to me. I'm certain Jesus had that satisfactory feeling when He overcame the temptations the devil brought His way during His retreat in the wilderness. Imagine being highly tempted three times around the same time and all temptations are in sync with the desires of the flesh. However, Jesus overcame him with a simple tactics..." by the words of their testimony" ( Revelation   12:11).  Until tomorrow, this strategy is most relevant for overcoming any hurdle, challenge or temptation. How does this correlate with today's article; HE WAITS FOR IT? Luke speaks of a reality Jesus experienced and every Christian equally experiences.   See this: "Now when t...

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

An eye for an eye is no new idiom. You must have heard of it or use it yourself. Either way, that idiom is something a child of God should never use but apply a different approach to it. An eye for an eye is a language used by those who seek justice (a repay) of wrong(s) or evil done to him or her. But in as much as justice is good and in many cases approved even in scriptures, same scripture gave room for mercy and forgiveness.  Unfortunately, many christians take laws into their hands by "wanting their offenders eye for the eye taken from them". They want to equivalently retaliate for the pain, backstab, hate, gossip or any sort of evil done to them in other to satisfy that hurt. But this is contrary to what Jesus preached. Jesus taught two vital measures you should take for any wrong or mischief done against you.  Before i talk on these two keys, I'd love to reveal what the Holyspirit personally taught me from the book of Ephesians on this subject of reveng...

A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. In case you don't know what Gen Z is, GEN Z (Generation Z) is a term refered to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. It isn't really a professional term used to identify those born in those years but it was coined by few individuals. However, it's use gained wide spread around 2010 to 2015 particularly amongst marketers/advertizers, media outlets, researchers and youngsters especially in social media world. I said something about the previous generation known as the millennials (those born between 1981 to 1996) who didn't really face the problems of the 'Gen Z's. "What could it be? "  Simple, SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE. Prior to the 21st century (2000's), it is recorded that the world was already digitalized but the soci...

GOD IS COMMITTED TO YOUR SAFETY: An Experience

Last Sunday's service sparked in my memory an experience I had with a cultist few months back. The sermon, "THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS ANGELS OF PROSPERITY" by my mentor, Pastor Victor Akah cemented my belief in God's total protection, the ministry of His angels and the consciousness of their presence in my life. However, I want to show you by the spirit and my experience that God never fails to protect and deliver those who are His.  It was on a Saturday evening. The weather; beautiful, fit for evangelism. I walked a distance then followed a shortcut that would make my journey to the church hall easier before setting out for evangelism with brethren. It was round 4:30 pm.  As I walked into the street, getting closer to its end as to reach the express road, I heard a man whistle at me, " Hello, fine girl, stop". I thought it was just one of those guys by the road side that have nothing to tell a young girl but to ask for her name and number, so I ig...
