WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

Everybody is called for an assignment in the earth, we aren't meant to do every thing or do what others are doing simply because it is nice or pleasant.

For example, you know you're meant for the ministry, called to take the gospel of Christ to every soul but you divert your full attention to the business industry. In as much as engaging in business is never wrong, don't you think you're missing it?

Or maybe you're called into children ministry, maybe for the youths or women but then, you are eyeing a fellow that's an academia or thriving in the entertainment world as a musician. If you go that path, you'll meet unfulfillment and dissatisfaction as you journey through.

You are given talents to operate with and yet you envy that of another. Or maybe you're complaining that the talent given to you is not enough, so you choose to do nothing with it. That's a big mistake you're making there.

We work with what God has placed in us. We are to accord serious attention to our assignment; the purpose of our existence. Everything isn't meant for you. Because you like it doesn't mean it's for you.

We are meant to follow the purpose our Creator made us for.

He is the manufacturer after all. He decides what our existence is meant to serve. That's the reason He positioned in you some functions and usability that will serve Him and humanity best.

It is your duty, therefore, to go to the manufacturer and gain knowledge of your usefulness and the paths that best suits your usefulness and remain there to serve.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

You go to Him and ask Him questions. Sit down and question yourself too.
Intentionally seek answers regarding your existence and allow the light of God's word and discovery expose your functionality to you. In this way, you'll be living and not existing.

Yes, if you don't know the purpose of living, then you're merely existing. Same is the fact If you're walking a wrong path.

What indicates you're living is that you're working in the purpose by which you exist. That you've come to understand the functions and talents divinely constructed and wired in you by the manufacturer and work with it.

If I create a washing machine for example, and I expose it to the world without its manual that contains instructions for usage, people won't know how to use it. Even though someone tries to use it, he may abuse it or destroy it in no time.

He may use it for something else because he doesn't understand the intentionality of the creator for producing it.

Unfortunately, many are like that today. They abuse their potentials and walk destructive paths because they don't know why they are actually existing.

And they'll just be like the washing machine, when its worth and purpose isn't understood. it will be kept aside and abandoned. It will be useless to prospective users until its functions are exposed by the manufacturer himself. That's how it works.

You can't be useful and purposeful until you discover who you are and the more you walk the path of purpose, the more you get to discover all that God has placed in you.
You can't bring solution to a problem of humanity (whether financially, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, structurally, etc) until who you are has been revealed to you for you to harness all that God has placed in you.

Every single invention created was made to solve a problem or a need in the world. You name it: vehicles, household appliances, electrical gadgets etc. Each one of them is serving humanity really well because it solves a need (or multiple needs as the case may be) and making life easy for us.

We can't carry out activities, enjoy close and distant communication, enjoy global network and connections, scale high level of productivity and creativity without them.

Our mobile phones alone depicts the image I'm trying to paint. Humans literally can't do without with them in this dispensation.

You want to make a mark, then don't stop till your functions and all placed in you is well understood by you.

You want to leave this earth empty? Then discover all in you so you can pour it all out.

You want your life to be worth living? Then choose not to exist. Choose not to be left at a corner of the world, in a small state or community and allow the dust of unfulfillment cover you, with no one knowing you actually exist.

There's more to you than you know it.
There's a lot God has placed in you which the world needs.
There are people that are desperately in need of what has been designed in you; that idea, talent, invention, potential, skill.

There are thousands of people that are willing to pay any cost just to get what is instilled in you. But how can you give what you don't even know you have?

If you haven't discovered it yet, let's journey through a few stated mediums to help you discover purpose.

MEDIUMS THROUGH WHICH PURPOSE IS REVEALED

IT CAN COME IN AS A BURDEN.

Your purpose can be in form of a huge burden in your heart for a cause. It can be some thing you see or notice that isn't right around you, either to enforce change  or rebuild something that's destroyed.

Nehemiah had a great burden to rebuild the fallen walls and gate of Jerusalem. That burden cost him fasting and prayers for the Israelites and to confront the king with his request. (See the book of Nehemiah 1).

That was purpose calling out to him. The Israelite needed an advocate and Nehemiah bore that burden for his people. He didn't stop till the wall was rebuilt.

Your burden can be for the body of Christ, for the sick, the poor, to empower young people, to raise godly generation... It can be anything. Just respond to it.

IT CAN COME IN AS A BURNING PASSION.

Your burning passion signifies a zeal or something you're determined to pursue. It is like a fire in the belly. It is something you desire to effect in your world.

Every one possesses different stance of passion. Some are passionate in certain professions (doctors, educationists, public administrators, journalist etc). Some are passionate about a skill (writing, baking, fashion designing, craft/artifacts, online skills etc). Your passion fuels your strength to exude whatever area you're passionate about. It enables you to go the extra mile to express it.

That thing you enjoy doing with little or no pay is your passion.

Communicating my thoughts and expressing knowledge of God's word through written and spoken form is my passion. I do this because of the message of transformation, right and pure living I want to communicate to the world. With or without payment, I enjoy what I do. That's passion.

Even if it's not paying presently, don't worry, it will definitely on the long run so long you keep giving out value.

IT CAN COME IN AS WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT (TALENTS).

Every human being was given at least one talent from God. Some were given more but the number doesn't really matter.
What matters is the lives you bless with it and the fulfillment derived from it.

So, what are you good at? Maybe you can sing melodiously, communicate thoughts effectively in spoken and written form, teach and people would easily understand, skillful in creativity, flexibility with your body (dance), or magic in your hands to invent wonders out of nothing....
Whatever thing you're so good at can be a pointer to your purpose provided it blesses humanity and brings God glory.

IT BE REVEALED AS A PROPHECY

There are individuals that knew their purpose through prophecy. It may be revealed before birth, after birth or as you grow into maturity. Whatever time frame it was revealed isn't the main deal but the contents of the prophecy about you.

•The purpose of Samson was revealed before his birth (Judges 13:5).
•Apostle Paul's purpose was revealed after his conversion on his way to Damascus. (See Acts 9:15-16)
•Even Jesus. His purpose was long revealed before His birth. (Matthew 1:21-23, Isaiah 7:14). Many passages of the Bible reveals this.

The scripture has several stories of great men whose purpose were prophesied. So, if a prophecy was pronounced about you before or after your birth, then that's your purpose.

IT CAN BE REVEALED AS SPEAKINGS OF GOD'S WORD TO YOU.

If you're sensitive enough spiritually, God can minister your purpose to you. He has mediums of doing this. He does it;

•By ministering to your spirit through His Spirit. (Romans 8:16).

•Through an encounter. Moses had an encounter with God on mount Horeb. His purpose was revealed there. (Exodus 3:1-15).

•Through revelation via His word. God has spoken to many about their purpose through His word.
I am an example of that. There are some verses of scripture that communicates who I am with a strong assurance and affirmation in my spirit about it. I take those scriptures very personal.

He can minister through this medium or any of the above mentioned medium to you.

In addition, please note that anything you're doing shouldn't be outside God's word. Everything should still point to God. It should bring Him glory and bless people.
If it doesn't, then, it is not your purpose.

You can't tell me that your purpose is to sing secular music as a singer, act erotic movies as an actor/actress or professional insult creator like most comedians do or create any inventions or idea that doesn't glorify God.

If that's your case, then the devil has perverted your purpose to serve him not God. Nothing perverse or unclean comes from God. If it is perverse, then you have to change that path to the right one. Don't walk the wrong way with the blessed potentials functioning in you.

Also never let your purpose be self driven– for selfish profits alone– because it's not just about you but others. (Philippians 2:3-5).

CALL TO ACTION

Search yourself. Ask these questions.
•What does my spirit agitate for?
•What do I enjoy doing?
•What burden am I nurturing?
•What is God saying about me?
•In what certain area or field of life can what I've discovered be of use?

Once you've gain clarity on that, position yourself as what you've discovered to people. Position yourself as the answer and a solution in that regard to the world. That's how you can live purposeful.

Don't just end there.

Vow to pour out every single thing in you to serve that cause so when you return to your Creator, you can tell Him you served Him and humanity with all invested in you without wasting any.

FINAL WORDS

This is applicable to everyone but this message is targeted to Christians.
If you follow everything, you'll miss the main thing. If you try to be like the others, you'll miss being who you are.

In as much as life and the world presents us with many options to choose from and paths to follow, it is paramount we discover our own paths accorded to us by God and walk in it, being focused at it, refusing distractions and the attention the other strangers seek from you.

If you are not a born again, you have to repent of your sins and consciously confess Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
You have to make peace with God your Creator if you want to live a life of purpose that will bring you eternal joy. It starts with salvation.

Just say this prayer of salvation: Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I receive you today as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me of all my sins as I repent today. I receive Your Spirit and grace over my life.
Thank You Lord for saving me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

If you made that prayer consciously, Congratulations. You are now born again.
Don't just end here like some people do, continue serving God and living for him in your purpose.

HOW POSSIBLE IS PURITY IN A PERVERSE WORLD?

We live in a world where premarital sex, lust, and diverse sexual vices are thrown at us on the face. Sensual pictures, movies and music that promotes and instigates pornography, masturbation, lesbianism, homosexuality, adultery, rape, lust, etc are rampant, virtually everywhere. It takes advance discipline and utmost reverend for God to be able to resist it. When you access the internet, its there. When you read through some magazines, its there. What about the television compiled with various TV channels with different commercials, ads, movies, operas, shows, etc, it is in its abundance.  These days, almost everything we view promotes lust. Even ads; mere ads. Those that value their christian faith and purity can't even watch television in peace. You'll have to keep changing and switching channels to guide your eyes against scenes that defiles the mind. Even the streets are cluttered with immodestly dressed women and men. They are on every sidewalk and every corne...

HE WAITS FOR IT

I love that feeling I get when a person who seeks my downfall gets so disappointed as a result of his planned scheme against me being totally frustrated. I really do love it. It communicates that I can't be touched, harmed or disadvantaged by the enemy. It makes the fact about God being with me evident to me. I'm certain Jesus had that satisfactory feeling when He overcame the temptations the devil brought His way during His retreat in the wilderness. Imagine being highly tempted three times around the same time and all temptations are in sync with the desires of the flesh. However, Jesus overcame him with a simple tactics..." by the words of their testimony" ( Revelation   12:11).  Until tomorrow, this strategy is most relevant for overcoming any hurdle, challenge or temptation. How does this correlate with today's article; HE WAITS FOR IT? Luke speaks of a reality Jesus experienced and every Christian equally experiences.   See this: "Now when t...

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

An eye for an eye is no new idiom. You must have heard of it or use it yourself. Either way, that idiom is something a child of God should never use but apply a different approach to it. An eye for an eye is a language used by those who seek justice (a repay) of wrong(s) or evil done to him or her. But in as much as justice is good and in many cases approved even in scriptures, same scripture gave room for mercy and forgiveness.  Unfortunately, many christians take laws into their hands by "wanting their offenders eye for the eye taken from them". They want to equivalently retaliate for the pain, backstab, hate, gossip or any sort of evil done to them in other to satisfy that hurt. But this is contrary to what Jesus preached. Jesus taught two vital measures you should take for any wrong or mischief done against you.  Before i talk on these two keys, I'd love to reveal what the Holyspirit personally taught me from the book of Ephesians on this subject of reveng...

A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. In case you don't know what Gen Z is, GEN Z (Generation Z) is a term refered to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. It isn't really a professional term used to identify those born in those years but it was coined by few individuals. However, it's use gained wide spread around 2010 to 2015 particularly amongst marketers/advertizers, media outlets, researchers and youngsters especially in social media world. I said something about the previous generation known as the millennials (those born between 1981 to 1996) who didn't really face the problems of the 'Gen Z's. "What could it be? "  Simple, SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE. Prior to the 21st century (2000's), it is recorded that the world was already digitalized but the soci...

GOD IS COMMITTED TO YOUR SAFETY: An Experience

Last Sunday's service sparked in my memory an experience I had with a cultist few months back. The sermon, "THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS ANGELS OF PROSPERITY" by my mentor, Pastor Victor Akah cemented my belief in God's total protection, the ministry of His angels and the consciousness of their presence in my life. However, I want to show you by the spirit and my experience that God never fails to protect and deliver those who are His.  It was on a Saturday evening. The weather; beautiful, fit for evangelism. I walked a distance then followed a shortcut that would make my journey to the church hall easier before setting out for evangelism with brethren. It was round 4:30 pm.  As I walked into the street, getting closer to its end as to reach the express road, I heard a man whistle at me, " Hello, fine girl, stop". I thought it was just one of those guys by the road side that have nothing to tell a young girl but to ask for her name and number, so I ig...
