M.A.D— MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Have you made plans of going beyond your present self (positively) and current feat? Have you ever thought of going beyond the norms society set as standard, or exceed that which is expected of you by family and peers?

Daily, we're pressurized to take decisions according to norms (either tradition, set of rules and philosophies, etc) and most times, we fallaciously believe that those norms will bring us both fulfillment and satisfaction. In as much as those standard aren't wrong in itself, it will only bring out little of all God has in you.

It won't only limit your potentials but will make you comfortable with less which will eventually make you leave this world not fulfilled according to God's benchmark of fulfillment... and that's not good for you.

Daniel was an example of a person who made a difference in his time even as a young person. There was just this thing that made him different from his age grades. He grew up to be placed as a governor and was so significant that the king gave thought to set him over the whole realm.

Wow! That man must posses what the others didn't.

The question then is what?

Or you think it happened by chance or luck? Uhh uhh!

See this;
"Then this Daniel DISTINGUISHED HIMSELF ABOVE the governors and satraps, because AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT WAS IN HIM; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm." (Daniel 6:3).

"To distinguish" is a deliberate act. He deliberately made that decision and that decision was what gave him that advantage.

So, what made Daniel distinguish himself from his colleagues?

He had knowledge of the God of his fathers and his heavenly identity.

Daniel was a Jew who was exiled to Babylon and forced to serve in the king's court. Despite being far from his homeland, Daniel remains faithful to God and his faith, and he was given a position of prominence in the court.

Because of this, he had the opportunity to influence the kings and rulers around him with his wisdom and guidance. He was even given the gift of interpreting dreams, which further establishes his importance in the palace.

That's how M.A.D Daniel was.
(I just love Daniel and covet the grace of God on him...smiles).

So, How Can You Make A Difference

You must be born again. This isn't a step to take, it's a criterion (necessity). You can't pull off living a  unique lifestyle when you don't know Christ. This world is full of sinful trends and norms already. It needs peculiar lifestyles cluttered everywhere to beautify it. It needs your light.

Daniel was a captive in that foreign land as well as his Israel brethren who was brought up with the knowledge of God yet scripture mentioned just him, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Why?

Their closeness and reverence to God was top-notch hence God made them great representatives even highly respected in that foreign land. YOU MUST KNOW JESUS.

ADOPT KINGDOM CULTURE

Your native has its culture (way of life, language, belief systems, customs, dress pattern, etc). In the same vein, the kingdom of God comprises of a large community of sacred people with specific culture that can't be manipulated.

Holiness which is our way of life, God's word which is the basis for our belief system and other requisite patterns must be lived if we identify ourselves as heaven's citizen.

Just one decision kept Daniel relevant in Babylon. (Daniel 1:8 & 6:3). What are you waiting for?

ALLOW YOURSELF BECOME A CONDUIT OF EXCELLENCE

Be that person that exhibits excellence wherever you find yourself and in whatever you do. As a clergyman, business person, student, career person, etc.

Whatever you're doing should be different from the rest and should ranked the best. This is very much achieveable when the Spirit of the Holy God is upon you. Allow yourself to be possessed by the Spirit of excellence cause God loves and exhibits excellence.

As a result of the excellent Spirit of God dwelling in Daniel, he was singled out from everyone including indigenes and non-indigenes of that nation.

You can thrive anywhere in this world, so long you have the Holy Spirit. This scripture made me understand this!

This same Spirit is the reason Daniel never engaged in fraudulent activities when his fellow governor colleagues engaged it. Sin kills excellence. Sin is never excellent.

That's why business/company/institution owners can't employ liars, fraudesters, or cheats in their companies. Even ill-mannered individuals aren't condoned. So, sin and a bad attitude is never excellent. Men who exerts integrity, courtesy and are well-bred is who people are looking for.

Decide today to be ABOVE; that's the M.A.D zone.

"Then this Daniel DISTINGUISHED HIMSELF ABOVE the governors and satraps, because AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT WAS IN HIM..." (Daniel 6:3).

God bless you.

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

WHEN PURPOSE DOESN'T LOOK POPULAR

One of the basic need of humans is to be seen. The need to be wanted, accepted and approved by others. And in our world today, where visibility and popularity often connotes value, walking in the light of purpose can feel lonely and somewhat insignificant. It seems like everyone is moving faster, shining brighter, and getting noticed.  On the other hand, you who seek to live in obedience to God's instruction per time  don't draw attention. Your purpose looks slow, hidden, or even strange to others. What happens then? The truth is, God’s purpose for your life won’t always look popular. Sometimes, He calls you to build when no one else understands what you’re building. He calls you to walk a path that doesn’t make sense to the crowd. That's not really comforting, right? But understand that there's a difference between living for purpose and living for popularity. Purpose is about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. It’s about obedience, faith, and surrender. MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...
