KEPT AWAY FROM GOD, YET UNNOTICED

If the devil wants to pull you away from God, he wouldn't need to show up with horns and fire neither would he come to you with outright denial. No, that's too obvious.

He’d be subtle, clever, and quiet. He’d use everyday life. He’d twist the good into distractions, and sin into freedom. He wouldn’t scare you — he’d SOOTHE YOU into separation from God in a way that seems harmless on the outside but destroying you from inside out.

And you know what subtle individuals do: they cook up a well planned scheme, waits for your weakest moments and strike!

We have to be conscious of the devil's devices and how he'll use it to slowly but effectively take us away from God. (2 Corinthians 2:11)

1. Comfort Over Conviction

You are kept satisfied and comfortable so that you think you don't need God. You get the job, the contract deals, the house, the relationship — life feels stable. Suddenly, prayer becomes optional. Church becomes your rarest go-to.

You’re not against God, quite alright... you’re just comfortable. And comfort quietly replaces the need for grace in your life.

This is the core reason you don't seek God as passionately as you used to. Everything is okay now. No need for the lengthy prayers, study of God's word or even fellowship with God and brethren.

Please, I beg you in Jesus name, don't blame or question God when your desired result isn't evident (especially financial results). First ask yourself, "will i still seek and worship God with all passion when i have it all, can i still be faithful"?

That supposed delay may just be divine protection.

2. Redefine truth by making it personal, not spiritual.

You’ve heard people say, “Live your truth.” That sounds freeing not until 'your truth' contradicts God’s.
You start feeling sin isn’t sin anymore but self-expression. The Bible becomes outdated, and your feelings become your guide. And without even realizing it, you're building a belief system with you at the center.

This one is terrible!

May you never get to this point because this is how and where your conscience gets severed with hot iron as scripture puts it. This is where you so grieve and quench the Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 4:2, Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19)

3. Stay Distracted

You wake up to notifications, scroll through reels, work all day, then unwind with Netflix, moviebox or any other movie platform and more scrolling.
You tell yourself, “I just don’t have time for God.” Some even say, "i wish i had more time in a day".
But the truth? It’s not time you lack — it’s stillness and understanding priorities. (Psalms 46:10, Matthew 22:37 )

The devil doesn’t have to tempt you into rebellion... nah! He just keeps you too busy to hear God’s whisper.

Do you know the worst part of it? He makes you believe busyness is productivity and efficiency, therefore you're doing well.

You are busy doing what exactly? Think about it.

4. Choose Religion Over Relationship

“Let them go to church, but never meet Jesus.” That's the devil's agenda for mostly committed church workers and leaders.

You dress up, go to church, sing loud, post Scriptures online — but deep down, your heart feels far from God.
Religion is routine now. God isn’t someone you talk to, He’s someone you perform for.

The scary part?

You can play the role and still miss the relationship. The whole purpose of Christianity has been misplaced on this benchmark.

Zealous church workers and leaders, let's be careful.

If there's no intimate relationship with God, we're only rendering onstage/behind stage performance, not true service (John 4:24).

5. Use doubt to confuse you

In the devil's voice, “I'll twist their pain into distance from God.”

A loved one dies. A prayer goes unanswered for too long. Life feels unfair.
You wonder, “If God loves me, why would He let this happen?”
Instead of taking the pain to God, you slowly pull away. Many have been there. You might have been there too.

Through this medium, the enemy turns doubts into distance and distance becomes disbelief. It's doesn't happen in one big moment, but through quiet disappointment.

Never let it get to this point.

6. Shame you into silence by making your sin feel unforgivable.

You messed up. Maybe it’s addiction, sexual sin, or secret anger.
Instead of running to God, you hide. You think to yourself, “God’s tired of me.” And just like that, shame becomes a wall.
But here’s the truth: Shame is the devil’s tool, not God’s.
God says “Come,” while shame says “Don’t you dare.” (Hebrews 4:16).

God's love and mercy nulls every wrong in repentance. Run to Him not away and be free.

7. Divide the Church

“If you can’t destroy them, divide them.”

Someone in church offends you. The music isn’t your style. The pastor doesn’t preach the way you like or dosen't notice your efforts, so you leave. Or worse, you become bitter and gossip.

The devil doesn’t need to destroy the Church, he just distract it with pride, preference, and petty arguments.

This is why every Christian congregation should be guided in love, operate in unity and live in purity.

In summary, sometimes the most dangerous spiritual state isn’t rebellion, it’s distraction. It’s living a life where God is not rejected, just slowly replaced.

Replaced by comfort, by busyness, by compromise.

The devil doesn’t need to steal your soul with a scream, he just needs to lull it to sleep with a whisper: “You’re fine. You don’t need God… at least not today.”

Let's make amends today and follow ancient landmark.

God bless you!

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
