DEAR CHRISTIAN, IT'S ALL ON HIM

Some Christians have this idea that some things are just off or isn't necessary when it comes to the Holy Spirit.

Many of us have a very 'rigid' relationship with the Holy Spirit. We only tell Him very 'important' things (usually the difficult and daunting challenges in our lives). We feel some things are quite insignificant or too little to tell the Holy Spirit because we feel our relationship and conversation with Him should be more rigid and only the  'thus-says-the-Lord's'.

And I've seen that this has frustrated many children of God, sometimes unknown to them. As a child of God, you may be struggling with a weakness, a disability, an addiction or even struggles with yourself and won't tell Him about it because you feel It should always be about passing and receiving instructions from Him.

But haven't you read that the Holy spirit wants to hear and know everything, even down to the minutest issue YOU FEEL YOU CAN HANDLE ON YOU OWN. Notice the emphasis!

Yes!

Rely on Him for even the things you think you can handle on your own. That's one of the ways an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit is nurtured.

When I say it's all on Him, i mean He is there to take upon Himself everything that concerns you. Your business is His business. That's His ministry – minding your business by making it His. That's why He was sent to you as the Helper.

Your life, destiny, career, business, academics, success, challenges, a weakness, and incapabilities, etc are all His business because He wants to be part of it.

This scripture opened my eyes the more to this truth:

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses...."
Romans 8:26a NKJV

Amongst the many things, the Holy Spirit fulfills is His ministry as the Helper, He also displays that help in our weaknesses.

Your weakness can be procrastination, lack of confidence, timidity, lack of patience, disorganized, fear, overthinking, doubt, insecurity, unhealthy comparison. It can even be bad eating habits, high level indiscipline, addiction and many others. Telling the Holy Spirit about it is the very first way of getting help. Don't feel it's too insignificant to tell Him. A habit as little as biting your nails or excessive intake of soda (carbonated drinks) can be told Him and trust me, He'll help you.

I once had an intense likeness for movies which was almost leading addiction and it wasn't helping me at all. Fortunately for me, the Holy Spirit asked me to stop watching movies (especially of a certain kind) because it wasn't only affecting my attention and priorities but also the health of my mind. I saw it wasn't an easy task. I found myself fumbling over and over but i didn't stop telling the Holy spirit to help me stop. After all, He was the One that instructed.

Surprisingly, i noticed the desire slowly died off. I rarely watch movies now. I can literally start a movie and not complete it, unlike how it used to be. I consider it a miracle because i really loved watching movies. The Holy Spirit helped by killing the desire to watch movies and it wasn't too long, i stopped. He dealt with the root (the desire).

That's how we get the deliverance or help with a weakness we're experiencing. When you tell Him about it, He starts working on you from the inside and you'll be surprised at how that life or habit will leave you.

What's that weakness or habit you find difficult to stop? Keep telling Him about it and give it time, you'll see the change you desire and you'll be amazed at it.

Additionally, don't be discouraged if the answer or change you want isn't instantenous. Your patience is needed. Be patient with God and yourself.

Practice this scripture more and you'll be fine.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."
Matthew 7:7‭-‬8 NKJV

 God bless you.

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
