HE WAITS FOR IT

I love that feeling I get when a person who seeks my downfall gets so disappointed as a result of his planned scheme against me being totally frustrated. I really do love it.

It communicates that I can't be touched, harmed or disadvantaged by the enemy. It makes the fact about God being with me evident to me.

I'm certain Jesus had that satisfactory feeling when He overcame the temptations the devil brought His way during His retreat in the wilderness.

Imagine being highly tempted three times around the same time and all temptations are in sync with the desires of the flesh.

However, Jesus overcame him with a simple tactics..."by the words of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11). 
Until tomorrow, this strategy is most relevant for overcoming any hurdle, challenge or temptation.

How does this correlate with today's article; HE WAITS FOR IT?

Luke speaks of a reality Jesus experienced and every Christian equally experiences.
 
See this:
"Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an OPPORTUNE TIME." (Luke 4:13).

If you look at the preceding verses of this scripture, it elaborated on the temptations the devil brought before Jesus even at a sacred time Jesus was having – fasting and praying – not just in any location but in a place He was isolated from distractions.

The devil didn't respect that. He couldn't even respect Jesus on that note. This is to tell you that the devil doesn't respect anyone. If he could attempt interfering with Jesus' fellowship with God by tempting Him then he can most definitely do that to you.

Well, that's by the way!

The devil tried over and over to side track Jesus. From the beginning, he wanted Jesus to fail in fulfilling His destiny by trying to distract Him but the enemy failed twice as much. 

Now, that didn't discourage the devil. He didn't give up by his many failed attempts. 
Luke 4:13 says, "he departed from Jesus until an OPPORTUNE time. Meaning that wasn't Jesus' last temptation. The devil must have gone back to Him, probably through another pattern expecting a positive turn up.
Thank God Jesus never gave in because Jesus boldly said, "Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." (John 14:30).

Sadly, all of God's children remains ceaseless target of the enemy such that he tempts you and I at every opportunity. And he won't stop trying until Jesus comes.

This is why you as a Christian who cherish his/her Christian life and walk with Christ must be super careful because the enemy goes about looking for opportune timing to strike.

In some cases, we (christians) are the one giving the devil the opportunity to tempt us either consciously or subconsciously. While in most cases, he takes advantage of circumstances, our challenges and weaknesses and use that as his access for attack and we then unconsciously give in vulnerably to him. He carries out his enterprise and then boom, we're left with regrets.

So, what must be done at this point?
How can we overcome the enemy whenever he comes because he will surely return. Don't be too comfortable because you overcame him before.

First, you need to be discerning.
You have to stay on guard and be sensitive enough to know when his coming. Jesus was discerning enough to know that it was the devil speaking.

Secondly, use the Word of God.  
Question: how can you use what you don't know or have? 

In other to use the Word of God, you have to feed up yourself with the Word because the Word is your defense mechanism against temptations. 

Arm yourself with the Word of God. Let it fortify you. Write it on the tablet of your heart. Jesus was filled with the Word that's why He knew the best word to use against every temptation.

Furthermore, be on fire for Jesus. The enemy can easily ensnare a lukewarm Christian; a Christian that's bankrupt of the power of God and spiritual fervency. And this easily takes effect when there's no prayer altar/life and a disfigured Word life.

You chase the enemy away when you're consistently on fire. Jesus never had a break on His spiritual walk with God neither did He disconnect from the Father. Please, imitate Jesus.

So dearly beloved, this is how you frustrate the devil and his schemes against you. No matter how many times he strikes, you have your shield to protect yourself.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

An eye for an eye is no new idiom. You must have heard of it or use it yourself. Either way, that idiom is something a child of God should never use but apply a different approach to it. An eye for an eye is a language used by those who seek justice (a repay) of wrong(s) or evil done to him or her. But in as much as justice is good and in many cases approved even in scriptures, same scripture gave room for mercy and forgiveness.  Unfortunately, many christians take laws into their hands by "wanting their offenders eye for the eye taken from them". They want to equivalently retaliate for the pain, backstab, hate, gossip or any sort of evil done to them in other to satisfy that hurt. But this is contrary to what Jesus preached. A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. GOD IS COMMITTED TO YOUR SAFETY: An Experience

Last Sunday's service sparked in my memory an experience I had with a cultist few months back. The sermon, "THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS ANGELS OF PROSPERITY" by my mentor, Pastor Victor Akah cemented my belief in God's total protection, the ministry of His angels and the consciousness of their presence in my life.
