YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH

Times will come in your life when you feel you're not good enough.

It happens a lot.

But the issue isn't the feeling itself but how you handle it. As you journey through life, it is pertinent you do so with your sanity and your head held up high.

High in confidence of all God has placed in you (believing in yourself) and more importantly, having a high voltage of confidence in God that sparks off tremendous results in and through your life.

Why? Because without it, life will smash you like a ball of potatoes.

The world was created as a social place and we created as social creatures was put there by God.

Now, if you don't master the art of understanding your self worth in this social world, where you see a whole lot of people around you doing so well in a field, specialty or portraying certain attributes, depression will invade your life.

WHY YOU FEEL YOU AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH

That feeling doesn't just come on its own. When you start feeling worthless and insignificant, watch it! These things are eating you up;

Focusing on the negative and strengths of others. Paying attention to the strengths of someone else (what the person is good at and thriving in) and paying attention to your weaknesses.

Self-critism. You might have failed in a particular endeavor, pursuit or responsibility and as a result, you start criticizing yourself.

Unhealthy comparison. You may have set a human as a standard for how your life should be. And by so doing, you compare yourself to them.

You have to stop!

That will only make your life miserable.

For the fact your friend, relative, peers, colleague, etc is good at something doesn't mean you aren't good at anything.

I've come to understand that God created everyone uniquely different. My strengths are definitely different from yours.

I may be great at writing, cooking nice meals, communication skills, but it doesn't mean you don't have what you're great at.

You probably can play the strings, write, make nice meals, paint beautiful portraits, create nice designs. You may be very creative or can sing... there's got to be something.

The world comprises of the strengths of everyone. That's what gave this world a balance. You can't possibly know how to do everything. That tells you that the person you're killing yourself over also needs your talents, strengths and expertise.

Besides, some of the things we admire in others can actually be learnt and mastered when time and effort is invested into it; if that's your problem.

So, it's no big deal at all. We only kill ourselves for absolutely nothing.

Just discover and lay hold on your strengths and modify (work on) them so they become great assets to you. That should be your focus, not someone else's.

Hey there!

You are good enough. Just look within and make that God has blessed you with so valuable that it can't be ignored.

WHEN YOU ARE CRITIZED...
Either by someone or a situation you may be facing, ask yourself, "is this the truth"?

Okay, it may look or sound true to you but as a child of God, what should you believe?

What is being said to you or what has been written about you?

God's word is filled with great words about you.

"You are a chosen generation, or royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." (1 peter 2:9).

Look at the highlighted word. You are too important to God because He needs you to show forth His praises. He needs you...God Himself!
So you are good enough.

WHEN YOU ARE TOLD YOUR WEAKNESSES...
Either by rebuke or scolding and it hurt your esteem, what do you do?

Don't go about feeling pitiful, angry, or embarrassed, rather take it up as a project...to work on that weakness.

Whether the intention to it is good or bad, see every rebuke or correction as a medium for a positive change. Cause they're healthy for you no matter how painful. It makes you better.

There is what's called constructive criticism. That type of critism is very much needed cause you can err and not know it. So, give to heed them.

Having said all these, let's look at;

THE ANTIDOTE TO "LOOKING-DOWN-ON-YOURSELF" SYNDROME.

•Write out at least 15 things you've accomplished in your lifetime, no matter how little.

•List out all your strengths (things you're good at) no matter how insignificant it may be.

Then look at them consistently.

Additionally, use those strengths you've discovered to positively contribute to someone's life. Being a blessing to someone can be very fulfilling and elating.

A word of encouragement, as "insignificant" as it may look can lift someone's spirit.

Even your bright smile can make someone's day. Nothing you can do is insignificant. It can bless someone.

So please, stop saying you aren't good at anything. Stop seeing yourself as a failure. Stop seeing the bad side of things in life.

Amend where necessary but so build on your strengths.

You have a whole lot to offer.

Hope this blessed you?

Stay blessed.

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. In case you don't know what Gen Z is, GEN Z (Generation Z) is a term refered to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. It isn't really a professional term used to identify those born in those years but it was coined by few individuals. However, it's use gained wide spread around 2010 to 2015 particularly amongst marketers/advertizers, media outlets, researchers and youngsters especially in social media world. I said something about the previous generation known as the millennials (those born between 1981 to 1996) who didn't really face the problems of the 'Gen Z's. "What could it be? "  Simple, SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE. Prior to the 21st century (2000's), it is recorded that the world was already digitalized but the soci...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
