THE BLESSINGS OF OBEDIENCE

If you think obedience in humility is foolishness, this article should reorient you and disable that mentality.

Oftentimes, I've seen and heard people downplay on obedient folks because they feel the obedient ones are weak and can be trampled on. But that's a big lie they were told.

Apparently, obedience and humility doesn't only connote wisdom, it also has massive blessings attached to it. Mind my choice of words... MASSIVE BLESSINGS!

The blessings are, in quote "too good to be true". When I discovered the scriptures that highlighted and opened my eyes to this, I asked myself, "just my willingness to carryout instructions and commands from God has qualified me for all these?"
And then I said, "Favour, it pays big time to be obedient to Christ and I'll keep living it". Not just because I want the blessings but because it's the essence of my being—obedience to my Creator.

Without much story, let's look into THE BLESSINGS OF OBEDIENCE.

Obedience is simply your willingness to carryout instructions and commands from authority without holding back. There's nothing like half obedience. A little spark of arrogance can spoil the whole thing. Take note!

The authority I'm talking about in this article is simply JESUS! He instructs us daily as His own through His word and the Holy Spirit. Negligence and not adhering to Him will cost you as much as disobedience to your earthly authority in likes of your parents, leaders, etc would. Obedience is a necessity for all human beings.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 captivated me as I read through it.
It was detailed about where and how the blessings come.

Just by keeping to God's instructions and commands, He promised that these blessings will OVERTAKE you;

• Blessed in the city and the country. Nigerians are complaining of the economy and crisis in the country. Many nations of the world are experiencing one disaster or another. Not so for the obedient Christian.

As Christ's own, be rest assured that amidst chaos, the blessings will definitely get to you as you live a life of obedience.

• Your children also shall be blessed. I love this part.
Can you imagine your life of obedience as a Christian can affect your children? (See vs 4). Your life now can determine how blessed and prosperous your children will be.

Genesis 26:4 surprised me even more. Read it carefully.

[4]"And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these land; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed..."

WHY?

[5]"Because ABRAHAM OBEYED MY VOICE AND KEPT MY CHARGE, MY COMMANDMENTS, MY STATUS AND MY LAWS".

This was God speaking to Isaac. The blessings as a result of his father's faith and obedience transcended him. All of Abraham's descendants to this very day benefitted and are benefitting from Abraham's blessings beginning from His direct son, Isaac.

Today, we're enjoying it and even sing it as songs cause a man paid the price. He yielded to God's instructions in faith.

Imagine if he hadn't obeyed from the beginning? This should make you question yourself.

"If I fail, If I don't obey these God's given instruction to me, if I don't yield to His callings, leadings and promptings, what will become of my children and children's children?

This is reason enough to do that thing God has instructed, chosen or called you to do. Don't let your children and descent look back in the history of their lineage and call you a failure or trace their predicaments to what you did or didn't do. God forbid!

Please, in whatsoever you're doing, note this; your blessings lies in your personalized instructions from God, not from that of others.

You may be called or instructed to nurture children, young people or even to help the less privileged. You may be instructed to pay a huge price that will open the gates of greatness for you and those coming behind you.

No matter how insignificant or hard your instruction from God may seem, tarry in it cause it's from that God will bless you.

I just hope you understand this?

Also, God's written word should be strictly observed by the help of the Holy Spirit.

"This Book of the law shall shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way PROSPEROUS and then you will have GOOD SUCCESS".
(Joshua 1:8).

It's clear that keeping to God's word exposes you to prosperity all round and keeps you speaking the language of the scriptures not the world's economy or crisis. When others are speaking lack, you're speaking abundance, when others are speaking sickness, you're walking in divine health, when others are seeing troubles ahead, you're seeing peace and preservation. After all, you have a mighty, loving Father and His angels as your "bodyguards".

These and more are what God's word says. Just be faithful and obedient to Him and watch out for the blessing.

Additional blessing from Deutronomy 28. I can't possibly explain it all here. Just take out time to read up that chapter.

• Blessed is your produce (products). Your business, career, job, etc. Everything that's a source of income yields greatly for you.

• Blessed is your going out and coming in. Even your steps are blessed. Glory to God!

• In your very before, your enemies will be defeated for your sake.

• Blessed is the work of your hands. Anything your hand finds doing (a skill, etc) experiences multiplication. Meaning, even your hands carries the blessing. Wonderful!

• You'll be recognized as God's holy people.

• People who witnesses all these shall marvel at the blessings of God upon your life.

• You'll be the head and above only. You stand out wherever you're found.

God's word remains the template to attract all of the benefits of the blessings...how wonderful!

You cannot be part of the blessing when you haven't entered into the covenant through Jesus. That's the first step. Give your life to Jesus today to live in the blessing.

God bless you.

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

A GEN Z PROBLEM

You don't have to be surprised by today's blog title. I can assure you that there are challenges this generation are faced with that the previous generations didn't experience.  Just stay with me on this ride. In case you don't know what Gen Z is, GEN Z (Generation Z) is a term refered to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. It isn't really a professional term used to identify those born in those years but it was coined by few individuals. However, it's use gained wide spread around 2010 to 2015 particularly amongst marketers/advertizers, media outlets, researchers and youngsters especially in social media world. I said something about the previous generation known as the millennials (those born between 1981 to 1996) who didn't really face the problems of the 'Gen Z's. "What could it be? "  Simple, SOCIAL MEDIA PRESSURE. Prior to the 21st century (2000's), it is recorded that the world was already digitalized but the soci...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
