THE STATE OF YOUR THOUGHT LIFE

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are TRUE, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are JUST, whatsoever things are PURE, whatsoever things are LOVELY, whatsoever things are of GOOD REPORT; if there be any VIRTUE, and if there be any PRAISE, think on these things."  (PHILIPPIANS 4:8).

The scripture aforementioned unfolds the supposed state of our thought life. It unveils how our thoughts should be like and things we should ruminate on.

We should understand that our thought life is an important factor of every human being; its importance shouldn't be down played nor neglected. Why is this so? That's because our thoughts form our actions, it determines the outcome of our lives. (Matthew 15:19). Remember, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

However, our thoughts which possesses such ability should be guarded against harmful thoughts that may encroach our minds and affect our lives. Our thoughts should be aright – in line with the Word of God – as to reproduce acceptable, righteous and holy living.

I've discovered that the mind (thoughts) is one medium the devil uses to gain access into a man's life; Christians and non-christians alike. He brings to the thought of men wrong suggestions and if given attention to, access such person's life and gains control over him/her through it.

The devil also tries to keep men bound in darkness through depression, sin, oppression and error and this takes rapid effect when our minds (thoughts) aren't filled with God's word and when we heed to the devil's suggestions. People who entertain such suggestions end up being victimized. That's why people fall under depression, guilt and condemnation, oppression and sin which introduces darkness in their lives. Those already walking the right path can fall into error as well because of a careless thought entertained.

Therefore, anything that's not TRUE, HONEST, JUST, PURE, LOVELY, OF GOOD REPORT, OF VIRTUE AND PRAISE WORTHY, you're not allowed to think on it.
Quit thinking the devil's thought; thoughts of fear (of the known and the unknown), depression (as a result of failures, inabilities or problems) , suicide (because of depression), concupiscence (lustful and immoral thoughts), giving up( because of weariness and lack of faith)  and virtually anything that's contrary to God's word.

Search God's word, study and ruminate on scriptures for your thoughts that will heal any wounded part of your life or struggles you may experience rather than paying attention to negative suggestions that may destroy you. (The devil will always suggest something for you). Don't heed to that suggestion of suicide or immorality or giving up your faith, or giving up on your purpose or any erroneous movement. Resist the devil at the arousal of such thinking and he'll surely flee from you.(James 4:7).

In as much as you need food for your stomach, you also need food for your thought life (only insane people don't think). However, it should definitely be true, pure, good, lovely etc and not forbidden, stale, rotten, contents.

The state of your thought life will always affect your life entirely. Guard it!
Whoever is in control of your thoughts is in control of your life. Give it to Jesus!

"..but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2).

Repent and surrender to Christ if you always give in to the devil's thought. Ask the Holy Spirit to dwell in your heart and help you work on your mind. He'll do that for you.

God bless you!

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

WHEN PURPOSE DOESN'T LOOK POPULAR

One of the basic need of humans is to be seen. The need to be wanted, accepted and approved by others. And in our world today, where visibility and popularity often connotes value, walking in the light of purpose can feel lonely and somewhat insignificant. It seems like everyone is moving faster, shining brighter, and getting noticed.  On the other hand, you who seek to live in obedience to God's instruction per time  don't draw attention. Your purpose looks slow, hidden, or even strange to others. What happens then? The truth is, God’s purpose for your life won’t always look popular. Sometimes, He calls you to build when no one else understands what you’re building. He calls you to walk a path that doesn’t make sense to the crowd. That's not really comforting, right? But understand that there's a difference between living for purpose and living for popularity. Purpose is about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. It’s about obedience, faith, and surrender. Wheth...

HOW TO BUILD CONFIDENCE WITHOUT LOSING HUMILITY

You know, I truly love the virtue called humility and sincerely admire humble people. But you see folks that are extremely humble yet unapologetically confident — this, I can never resist. I could't help but wonder how they strike the balance until recently. You can see humility yet confidence is an aura they exude. I had to research on it and I discovered the "how-to" behind this amazing twist which I'll be unfolding here.  First off, let's understand this: T here is a thin line between confidence and pride. It takes some level of mastery to avoid breaking that line.  Have you ever tried to be confident but felt like you were being “too much”? Maybe you spoke up during a meeting, posted your small win online, or walked into a room with your head held high, then immediately wondered if you came off as proud. It’s something many struggle with: wanting to believe in themselves without seeming arrogant. Society often makes it worse by mixing up humility with self-dou...
