ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN

Today's article shall expose to you the one disturbing factor against Christians (especially those who yields to it); THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN.

Do well to read to the end!

Let us first look at an illustration in the Bible; a man who was greatly accused by the accuser.

JOB1:1-11
[1] There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

[3] His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

[6] Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

[7] And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

[8] And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

[9] Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

[10] Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

[11] But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Job was recorded as a blameless and upright man; none was like him on the earth at his time. A man who had the fear of God and eschewed evil. He was so cautious of his life and even that of his household. (Job 1: 4-5). God Himself boasted about him. God was proud of him and that was the reason for God's blessings and hedge around him and his household. (Job 1:10).

But even with an excellent record job had amongst men and with God – all his righteous deeds, his reverence for God and his comportment he even extended to his family – Satan the accuser still brought an accusation against him before God. He still accuses Christians today without apology or hesitation and he uses even the slightest of opportunity.

Can I tell you why?

It is because Satan is never pleased with God's Children; he is never pleased with you as long as you bear the seal of redemption. He is never pleased with your relationship with God or with all you do in the name of Jesus. He always seeks opportunity to condemn you before God just as he did with job.

Do you know that Satan had eyes on job while he was gallivanting the earth – to and fro on it. Why? Because job was right standing with God and God's blessings was round about him. That's the same way he has eyes on you as God's child.

Satan's sole aim is to keep you in enmity with God and separation from God. He did this to job. "..but now, stretch out your hand and touch all that he has and he will surely curse you to your face." (Job 1:11). He wanted job to curse God.

He also whispers condemnation to you for you to be in bondage of guilt, sin, destruction and all Jesus died for. And many believers fall prey to this scheme of the devil. They fall for his words of condemnation which keeps them perpetually down in sin, guilt and feeling of worthlessness. That's the mistake of many believers.

Do not give in to the devil's thoughts of condemnation and accusation. If you fall prey, it means you lack knowledge of God's word and don't understand what Jesus did for you in his birth, death, burial and resurrection. The precious blood of Jesus speaks for you as long as you're under the new covenant. "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel." ~ Hebrews 12:24.

UNDERSTAND THAT whenever the devil comes with his accusations and condemnation, use the blood of Jesus and knowledge of God's word. (Study God's word to understand what Christ has done and your rights in Him). That's your strategy against the devil. "..for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.." ~Revelation 12:10-11.

It doesn't matter how grave or great your sins might have been in the past, if you repent, confess your sins and seek God's mercy, He'll definitely forgive you. (1John 1:9).

We have an atonement; that's the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus our mediator reminds the Father of His blood whenever an accusation is presented against us. So, no devil should condemn or accuse you. You are free, forgiven and called the beloved of God in Christ. Never let your relationship with God be messed up because of guilt. Ask for mercy and move on with God.

Reconcile with Jesus today if you're still in sin. These benefits are only for those in Jesus. He's waiting for you with open arms.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." ~ Romans 8:1.

God bless you.

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

WHEN PURPOSE DOESN'T LOOK POPULAR

One of the basic need of humans is to be seen. The need to be wanted, accepted and approved by others. And in our world today, where visibility and popularity often connotes value, walking in the light of purpose can feel lonely and somewhat insignificant. It seems like everyone is moving faster, shining brighter, and getting noticed.  On the other hand, you who seek to live in obedience to God's instruction per time  don't draw attention. Your purpose looks slow, hidden, or even strange to others. What happens then? The truth is, God’s purpose for your life won’t always look popular. Sometimes, He calls you to build when no one else understands what you’re building. He calls you to walk a path that doesn’t make sense to the crowd. That's not really comforting, right? But understand that there's a difference between living for purpose and living for popularity. Purpose is about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. It’s about obedience, faith, and surrender. Wheth...

HOW TO BUILD CONFIDENCE WITHOUT LOSING HUMILITY

You know, I truly love the virtue called humility and sincerely admire humble people. But you see folks that are extremely humble yet unapologetically confident — this, I can never resist. I could't help but wonder how they strike the balance until recently. You can see humility yet confidence is an aura they exude. I had to research on it and I discovered the "how-to" behind this amazing twist which I'll be unfolding here.  First off, let's understand this: T here is a thin line between confidence and pride. It takes some level of mastery to avoid breaking that line.  Have you ever tried to be confident but felt like you were being “too much”? Maybe you spoke up during a meeting, posted your small win online, or walked into a room with your head held high, then immediately wondered if you came off as proud. It’s something many struggle with: wanting to believe in themselves without seeming arrogant. Society often makes it worse by mixing up humility with self-dou...
