THE HELP OF GOD

Things weren't working and I knew I needed help; help beyond me and man. It was beyond what man could do for me or what I could do for myself. Then I sought and cried for it in prayers to God.

This great need for help made me search scriptures. I came across some key verses that brought me comfort and understanding that helped me. And that is what I want to share with you incase you're going through a tough time.

Everyone in this life experience a phase whereby he/she literally feels cornered or can't move any step further. Human weaknesses and inabilities, failed attempt to meet expectations, incompetence, delay, failures or pressing needs cripples at that very stage. And the one thing you think of is HELP greater than that which your own strength can endorse.

However, when you find yourself in this despondent situation of loosing hope or strength, remember this: "I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth." (Psalms 121:1-2).

This scripture entails that it is understandable you're in your downcast, default mode at the point of challenges suffocating you, and you're now on the ground. It is very natural to seek help but it must be from someone in the best position (higher and greater than you with the solution you need).

WHAT DO YOU DO?
First, "...lift up your eyes..." Up! Meaning help comes from above not same level or below.
Secondly, the psalmist says, "my help comes from the Lord..." Meaning help may be 'up' but it is possible it's not from God because all forms of help aren't genuine. Not all help fits as the solution to your problem. Looking for a man of influence, wealth or whatever solution to your problem, may not be the solution because man is limited. He only renders help to the ones he trust, likes, approve, in good terms with and all. This is why man can't be God.

It is God that helps a man. That is why a man with absolutely nothing and no influencial person/connection at all can rise to levels that beat your imagination.

One of the factors that enforces this reality is MERCY.

It is God's mercy that moves God to stretch His arm to help a man because if God were to help us by our daily deeds alone, He will never help us.

His mercy propels Him to help you. So, when you're cornered in life, make the MERCY prayer. Not necessarily for any sin committed but in acknowledgement that you can go nowhere or do nothing or survive without His mercy.

Another fact to note on why you need the help of God and not man is, when God decides to help a man, not even the elements of this world or an opposing force can stop him from rising. Everything begins to work for him.

"The sun shall not smite you by day nor the moon by night". (Psalms 121:6).

ACTION YOU MUST TAKE.
Are you in a choking point in your life? Throw away self sufficiency and seek for God's help.

"Let us therefore come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may obtain MERCY and find grace to HELP in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16).

This scripture is a format on how you can receive help.
• You go before His throne.
• You obtain MERCY by praying the mercy prayer towards God in humility and brokenness of heart, showing how vulnerable and helpless you are.
• Cry to Him and pour out your heart on where you need His help.

How you'll receive it will marvel you.

After I made that prayer (and still making it), I received what I was asking from God almost immediately.

Call on Him, He doesn't fail.

In conclusion, "ask and it shall be given unto you..." (Matthew 7:7).  "And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do..." (John 14:13).

You don't receive because you don't ask. Yes, God sees the problem, but He needs your verbal request to put Him to action. He's waiting for your request.

Act on this and experience the help of God.

God bless you.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

An eye for an eye is no new idiom. You must have heard of it or use it yourself. Either way, that idiom is something a child of God should never use but apply a different approach to it. An eye for an eye is a language used by those who seek justice (a repay) of wrong(s) or evil done to him or her. But in as much as justice is good and in many cases approved even in scriptures, same scripture gave room for mercy and forgiveness.  Unfortunately, many christians take laws into their hands by "wanting their offenders eye for the eye taken from them". They want to equivalently retaliate for the pain, backstab, hate, gossip or any sort of evil done to them in other to satisfy that hurt. But this is contrary to what Jesus preached. Jesus taught two vital measures you should take for any wrong or mischief done against you.  Before i talk on these two keys, I'd love to reveal what the Holyspirit personally taught me from the book of Ephesians on this subject of reveng...

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

THE POWER OF BROKENESS

Through scriptures and my personal experiences, I've learned that brokenness is powerful. That one act alone can attract so much. It's all there in the Bible. The brokenness i mean here is not just about prostrating and rolling on the floor (though it can be demonstrated that way). I say this because it is possible for someone who isn't broken inwardly to exhibit it outwardly probably for show because people are watching. In as much as brokeness is displayed with the physical act, it should emanate from within. Even scriptures says it. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit..." , it didn't say a broken body. " A broken and a contrite heart — these, O God, you will not despise". (Psalms 51:17). It is the heart (the inward, the motive) God checks before whatever the body displays. Hence, brokenness is the state by which you realize you're nothing without God and the act of opening up yourself to Him and depending on Him for any and ...
