BECOMING AN INFLUENCE

To be an influence, you have to be first influenced. I'm talking about a positive influence now. Influencers are simply individuals who their company, materials (writings, books, songs, teachings, etc) and anything that comes from them impact others positively, one way or another. They have the ability to change perspectives/beliefs, thoughts and decisions. Their impacts bring illumination, solution to a problem, causes a mind shift or a better and healthier lifestyle. I saw something that amazed me as regards influence. Peter and John stood before the Jewish high court and spoke before them which left the Sanhedrin astonished. What amazed them wasn't their 'speech' but what they discovered. "And when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled." (Acts 4:13) The Sanhedrin saw two things in Peter and John —  Confidence and boldness in ordinary people (untrained and uneducated). The San...

SEASONED SPEECH

Has someone ever said something to you that's so burdensome and heart wrecking to hear, or that broke your spirit? Not that the broken spirit was as a result of words that came as a reproof or rebuke. I mean the speech coming from a stand point of condemnation, criticism, judgement, mockery and stance to demean you. It can be painful. It's more painful when it comes from a loved one or fellow christian associate.  This should never be found in a person's life not to talk of a Christian. In the kingdom of God, we have a structured way of talking and we talk for specific, intentional reasons not just to open our mouths. Unfortunately, all that proceeds out of the mouth of some folks are in form of arrows, bullets, garbages and repulsive contents. I've never seen where such has helped the recipient of those nature of words, rather it either destroys them or pollute their minds. And that's not what my Bible instructs. The apostle Paul wrote about the accepta...

THE WHAT IF'S OF MY HEART

Sometimes, I just sit and ask questions about the way christians live, our preference and pursuit then relate it with our relationship with God and how it should be.  And while thinking about it, I can't help but see the lapses in our Christian walk, the frivolities we chase, how we wile away time and ignore that which matters most in life.  It is utmost foolishness to prioritize what matters less and neglect what actually matters most. I thought of these questions I'm about revealing as I interrogated myself and decided to ask you these questions as well. They aren't asked for you to give direct answers but to self examine yourself and discover what should be priotized in your life.  So, while I ask these questions, check if they resonate with you and pinpoint where you aren't getting it right as to make necessary amendments according to your analysis and discovery. I believe you reading this article is a believer or even a born again Christian. And as one ...

PERSISTENT IN WORKS: What to do when you don't feel like it.

That skeptical feeling (doubt, uncertainties) that invades your mind when you feel like giving up and letting your guard down can be annoying as it puts you at a corner and decreases your productivity. It screams at you by informing your body, soul and spirit that you should give up on whatever work or pursuit of life you're engaged with especially when there's no notable progress. You know that feeling, right?  Everybody has what he/she wants out of life and many chase after it, but we can't outsmart life on this regard of feeling down stricken, discouraged and wearied on our journey through life. I've been there so many times, recently even. But thanks to my recent experience, I've learnt something very crucial that will keep me going whenever I feel stuck or feel like giving up. And that's what I'll be unveiling in today's article. You'll learn what to do whenever you feel like throwing in the towel. There's an approach you can app...

CAN GOD BE LATE? (Revised edition)

"Has God forsaken me, is it that God doesn't care? I've been praying yet nothing is happening." "He even promised me, is it that He doesn't fulfill His promises or too slow to fulfill it?" These are the many questions people ask their hearts even verbally when things goes haywire in their lives especially after praying and asking God for a solution. Looking at a story in the book of John 11. It reveals a scenerio that best explains today's article. It's the story of Lazarus. Lazarus was very sick. The message reached Jesus, and being informed about it, He said the sickness wouldn't end in death. But eventually, Lazarus died. Now the question is, did Jesus lie? That's the question people ask and that's the stage they lose all hope. Humanly speaking, you'd give up hope but that's not the end because He never lies. The fact is, Jesus said something about the situation but yet it happened. God has probably made promise...
