THOUGH YOU MAY WILL...

I learnt something very new this week which I'll be sharing here regarding my last week's blog.

Be patient enough to read through. You'll be glad you did.

It was earlier this week I realized that deliberate work is necessary in whatever you're doing to acquire results but it is totally incomplete without a paramount ingredient we should learn about.

Reading through the words of  DELIBERATE WORK (last week's article), I discovered that it's passing across an incomplete message.

So, what actually is missing?

THE HAND/HELP OF GOD

There are determined people with discipline, intelligence, strength and all littered everywhere but yet not all of them acquired all they've envisioned for themselves (or others) nor did it work out as planned for them. Why? Because they're failing to acknowledge a supernatural help they need.

I just pity folks who downplay the essence of Christ in their lives or neglects Him altogether.

It's not just because He gives salvation to the lost but also elevates and blesses them as a result of His mighty hand upon their lives.

Do you think Christianity is just about salvation, miracles, signs and wonders? Have you sat down patiently to study and spiritually assimilate this Holy scriptures that contain God's beautiful thoughts and plans for mankind?

You have to learn of His love, grace, faithfulness amongst the many and mercy too which is also my subject of emphasis in this article.

THE MERCY OF GOD

The mercy of God I speak of here isn't just for the forgiveness of sins but the mercy that attracts God's divine help.

Just because you could finish that project, buy that car, obtain that degree/certificate, acquire that high paying job, become an outstanding student or achieve any other notable feat in your life, doesn't mean it was fully pioneered by your hands, intelligence, wisdom, strength or hard/smart work?

Yes, I wrote last week that your deliberate work by being intentional will bring you the results you want, but if God isn't in the picture, then this will be you running in circles or perhaps, experiencing adverse struggles.

See this scripture,

"So then, it is not of Him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy". Romans 9:16.

Man was created by God with a WILL (the ability to make a choice/decision and exercise it). There's always something your heart WILLS to do (WILL also talks of a desire/longing). And so, you stop at nothing to get it achieved.

Now, that's where the 'nor of he that runneth' comes in.

When you're determined to get your WILL done, you set out (run) to obtain it. We've known this as what must be done to achieve feats in our lives. BUT...

The whole thing doesn't end there.

That scripture is saying your 'willing or running' will not have much effect if the God that shows mercy doesn't show up. That scripture is saying you were able to get that thing done, and acquired that feat because mercy showed up not because you're too strong, intelligent etc.

His mercy is what propelled the result.

His mercy attracts His help towards you, bring you ease and fast-forward the days of labour.

If it was only about your own work, the people building the tower of babel would have succeeded erecting the architectural plan of the tower. The Bible says they were highly determined which God saw and knew that they'd succeed because of their strong will power but despite that, the project failed. Why? Because God was never involved. His hand and help wasn't present in it. It was all a product of their effort, strength and intellect.

What am I trying to say?

If God doesn't want that thing you're working hard for stand, He'll likely make it fail like the the tower of babel, no matter your determination.

So, you need God. You need His help and mercy in that you're working hard to attain.

"Having therefore obtained the help of God, I continue unto this day... Acts 26:22. Apostle Paul was able to continue with the great things he did because of the help of God, not what He knows or what he can do or even his determination.

Know this, God makes men by helping them because they simply can't achieve much without Him involved. What takes others years to build can take you little time if God wants to help you.

Understand that to WILL is a component of your soulish realm. It still demands and expresses your strength and input as a man. But if the God who helps men get to the zenith isn't involved and UNWILLING to grant success to that thing you WILL to do, you will go nowhere.

If you want ease and help, never neglect God's help. Your strength is limited, God's strength isn't. When weariness and slumber attacks, that is the time that you depend on His strength more.

Avoid self sufficiency, pride in the name of self-confidence or arrival mentality. God can decide to take away that intelligence, gift, talent or whatever prowess you wield in other to humble you to your knees. Don't let that be you story. Come to a place where you can never do anything at all without God.

If you haven't made Jesus your friend, Savior and Lord, do it now for without Him, you can do nothing. (John 15:5c)

Say this prayer of salvation:
Lord Jesus, come into my life. I receive you today as Lord and Savior over me. I believe you died and rose for my sins and I repent of them today. I receive you now. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Live continuously and consciously in Christ by His Spirit and enjoy His continuous help.

Jesus loves you.

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

WHEN PURPOSE DOESN'T LOOK POPULAR

One of the basic need of humans is to be seen. The need to be wanted, accepted and approved by others. And in our world today, where visibility and popularity often connotes value, walking in the light of purpose can feel lonely and somewhat insignificant. It seems like everyone is moving faster, shining brighter, and getting noticed.  On the other hand, you who seek to live in obedience to God's instruction per time  don't draw attention. Your purpose looks slow, hidden, or even strange to others. What happens then? The truth is, God’s purpose for your life won’t always look popular. Sometimes, He calls you to build when no one else understands what you’re building. He calls you to walk a path that doesn’t make sense to the crowd. That's not really comforting, right? But understand that there's a difference between living for purpose and living for popularity. Purpose is about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. It’s about obedience, faith, and surrender. HOW TO BUILD CONFIDENCE WITHOUT LOSING HUMILITY

You know, I truly love the virtue called humility and sincerely admire humble people. But you see folks that are extremely humble yet unapologetically confident — this, I can never resist. I could't help but wonder how they strike the balance until recently. You can see humility yet confidence is an aura they exude. I had to research on it and I discovered the "how-to" behind this amazing twist which I'll be unfolding here.  First off, let's understand this: T here is a thin line between confidence and pride. It takes some level of mastery to avoid breaking that line.  Have you ever tried to be confident but felt like you were being “too much”? Maybe you spoke up during a meeting, posted your small win online, or walked into a room with your head held high, then immediately wondered if you came off as proud. It’s something many struggle with: wanting to believe in themselves without seeming arrogant. Society often makes it worse by mixing up humility with self-dou...
