THE CROWN

You're on a quest to get a crown (your aspirations, life goals, purpose, mandate etc) but now you're downcasted, you're fed up, it looks like you have no hope, it looks to you that you're not making progress and you feel like giving up.

Wait!

Before letting depression, discouragements and weariness stop you, read this article and get revived.

I was once like you. Unmotivated and discouraged in someway. It looked to me like I wasnt making any progress in life all round and i continuously compared my achievements to other people's success especially my age mates. I kept counting all God hasn't done.

Now, that's bad.

Thank God the Holy spirit opened my eyes to understand what I wasn't able to. And I want you to understand it too if you're guilty of this.

First of all, I want you to understand that you should always put on an optimistic attitude as you pursue your dreams and visions. You are heading towards your crown, your reward right? Then persist in your pursuit.

Yes, times when things seems not to work will rise against you. You may feel you ought to succeed in that endeavor of your life by now unlike your age grades who are making it, you may feel you're behind time but no! That's not the case.

Understand that there are times and seasons. To everything there's a season and time for every purpose on earth as the Bible connotes. (Ecclesiastics 3:1)
You have to be knowledgeable and posses the understanding that life is of stages and levels. Its not expected of you to make it or get there in no time like many expect. Since life is that way, you need to adopt a coping mechanism for every season in your life as shown in Ecclesiastics 3.

During the hot weather, you'll need to get lighter clothes that will help you cope with the heat. And also ensure there's power supply at home for air conditioner or fan to ease the heat. During the cold weather, you'll need thick clothes and duvet to cover yourself up properly.

All these and more are coping mechanism for the seasons in our country (Nigeria). So why not adopt one for that season in your life. You won't always get what you want at all times. Trying times do come. That's life. So, you don't need to let it put you down or make you give up in your life's pursuit.

Your attitude towards those demeaning times is your coping mechanism. Here are the few things you should apply to help you cope;

📌 Think and write down all God has done for you. Sometimes it is good to look back at past achievements and experiences that brought you thus far.

📌 Thank and praise Him for it. This mechanism helps me so much. It cures depression, discouragement and anxiety. (Besides, depression is evidence of ingratitude and discontentment). Channel the energy used for complaining and murmuring for praising God for your present progress.

📌 Look at your personal journal where your visions and aspirations are written. Look once again at the spoken word of God to you and revelations about your life. Then thank and trust Him to perfect it. Also let your imaginations work and broaden .It reignites passion to pursue the crown.

Don't wait till you acquire big things before thanking God. Develop a praiseful and thankful attitude.

Another fact to consider is to never measure up your progress to the success of others.

Everyone has their paths to follow. They're not on the same lane with you. Probably their destination or crown may not be as authentic and glorious as yours. Maybe you need more time to reach yours because yours is greater.
Those people you envy and compare yourself with may not even be walking their own lane. They may be walking someone else's path and little achievements they make puts you on depression mode. Its not worth it at all.

Yours takes time because yours will be more glorious. Anything that's strong and highly sought after passed through the test of time and this test is usually hosted by challenges and troubles to weigh your authenticity so you won't be a house made of straws or hays but solid bricks with a solid foundation.
Adopt this mentality. It will lessen discouragement and unnecessary depression.

Stop saying this guy has made it, that guy is cashing out, my mates are doing this or that. Stop!
Just know what you want, know what you're doing, where you're going, be focused at it and depend on God to perfect and bless it. You're making progress even though you don't feel it. God is doing something with you.

In conclusion, believe what God told you, believe in your dreams and visions. Put on a stubborn faith, patience, hope, perseverance. Don't allow tears blur your foresight. Don't allow fear, trouble and challenges distract your focus. Remain focused on the crown and believe you'll get there.

May your paths never be slippery as you continue in your pursuit.

God bless you.

AN EYE FOR AN EYE

An eye for an eye is no new idiom. You must have heard of it or use it yourself. Either way, that idiom is something a child of God should never use but apply a different approach to it. An eye for an eye is a language used by those who seek justice (a repay) of wrong(s) or evil done to him or her. But in as much as justice is good and in many cases approved even in scriptures, same scripture gave room for mercy and forgiveness.  Unfortunately, many christians take laws into their hands by "wanting their offenders eye for the eye taken from them". They want to equivalently retaliate for the pain, backstab, hate, gossip or any sort of evil done to them in other to satisfy that hurt. But this is contrary to what Jesus preached. Jesus taught two vital measures you should take for any wrong or mischief done against you.  Before i talk on these two keys, I'd love to reveal what the Holyspirit personally taught me from the book of Ephesians on this subject of reveng...

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

THE POWER OF BROKENESS

Through scriptures and my personal experiences, I've learned that brokenness is powerful. That one act alone can attract so much. It's all there in the Bible. The brokenness i mean here is not just about prostrating and rolling on the floor (though it can be demonstrated that way). I say this because it is possible for someone who isn't broken inwardly to exhibit it outwardly probably for show because people are watching. In as much as brokeness is displayed with the physical act, it should emanate from within. Even scriptures says it. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit..." , it didn't say a broken body. " A broken and a contrite heart — these, O God, you will not despise". (Psalms 51:17). It is the heart (the inward, the motive) God checks before whatever the body displays. Hence, brokenness is the state by which you realize you're nothing without God and the act of opening up yourself to Him and depending on Him for any and ...
