WHY COMPROMISE YOUR STANDARDS?

Undoubtedly, everyone possesses an identity and has a place of origin, same with any man born again. A man born again (born of the spirit–John 3:5) belongs to the kingdom of God;such person has recieved the right and access to God's kingdom therefore possessing an identity as heavenly citizens and becomes representatives of the kingdom of God here on earth.

However, as God's children and citizens of the kingdom, there are set standards we must keep and observe to be truly identified as God's own. These standards are God's standards which are found in His word; they are the patterns and modes of living and it should be well incorporated in our lives and be seen by all even as we live amongst the people of this world.

But there is a mistake many of God's children make and I have seen this mostly amongst young Christians: they compromise the standard. These category of christains try to adjust their lifestyles (godly lifestyles) for several reasons round about them. It can be to impress people, to fit in to the worldly trends and patterns, to get approval or acceptance from the world etc.

Some of these christains falls prey to the deceptive words of others around them, mostly peers and friends, which  encourages them to "loosen up" in their lifestyles implying that they are boring, too stiff or old fashioned. These words finds its way through the christain's heart and forms in them by giving those words a second thought. So they think it's okay to limit the way they attend church services and their personal relationship with God, to adjust  their dressing patterns (indecent dressing but not too obvious), the way they talk and use of words (use of vulgar and profane words but not too obvious), telling dirty jokes (but not too obvious), their misconducts (but not too obvious),therefore, breaking certain  boundaries they set for themselves as God's children. They use the "do not make it too obvious" or "compromise a bit" lie from the devil, through friends and peers, as a license to compromise their faith and adjust their christain lifestyles.
Never heed to this deceptive statement and lie from the devil. The route to backsliding begins that way; it begins by listening to people that are not in the faith with you or paying attention to worldy trends. The scripture says in 1John 2:15, "love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him". The evidence that proves you love God and really belong to His kingdom is by keeping a blind eye to the world and its trends and also shutting your ears to all that promotes it.

In Daniel  chapter 1, we find three young men who were willing to keep the standards of God taught to them by their fathers even in a foreign land. They refused to adjust neither to give in to the Babylonian system of life (a typology of the world today). That passage of the Bible conveyed how they refuse eating anything from the kings table–because it was defiled; served to a god strange to them. Even as they grew in that land, they never compromised. They never adjusted unlike the other young people that were brought to Babylon from Jerusalem with them. Others compromised and adjusted to the new system but they didn't.
But many young born again Christians today falls or compromise even by common things. Maybe through relocating to a new environment, getting admitted into college, mingling amongst new people, etc all in the name of trying to fit in. Why compromise your standards; why adjust God's standards you swore to keep for mere things or happenings around you?

You bring so much honour and glory to God by standing with God unshakably and unashamedly. People, even the world, sees the light of God illuminating through you by living and maintaining the life of Christ.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn't compromise even in the face of death and it prompted a command from the king himself unto all nations to honour their God (the Almighty God)–Daniel 3:14–29.
Bring glory to God by standing to the faith you profess. Standing strong and true to God's word, standards and purpose alone can save someone even outside your knowledge.

Please, dearly beloved Christians, hold on to Christ without shame or regret. Keep your standards regardless of circumstances or changes around. Live a very choosy and disciplined christain life. Do not accept whatever that passses your way. Do not give into the temptation. I know you want to improve your lifestyle but not at the expense of your christain life. Improvement should be observed under the inscribed doctrine of God's word, if you desire to remain in God's kingdom.
May God help you represent Him as long as you live in Jesus name. Amen.
If you have made this mistake of compromising, Jesus is ever willing to recieve you again and help you. Just go to Him. Isaiah 1:18.
God bless you!

shalom!

MY DEADLY FRIEND

I had this friend I never knew was a foe till I understood its deadly traits.   The worst part?? I feed it myself unknowingly. Imagine feeding what kills you slowly. No, it's not an external being or thing but comes from within.  And no, it's not personal to me but a generic problem amongst millions of people out there. Comparison! Yes, comparison! It shows itself through three different forms :  Emotions , c ommunication   and   Identity . You would agree with me that these forms can also be components that constitute friendship. This is to elaborate how comparison poses as a friend while stating its significant harm. THE EMOTIONS INVOLVED  Some people think of comparison as a tool for growth. I mean, if other people's success and progress can keep you awake and thinking all the time, then you would want to do better. That's what you think, right?  Comparison would surely give you a lot of motivational lines like: "If my friend can do this, i can do i...

MY LITTLE THOUGHTS!!!

I read something that kept me in thoughts for some time now and I saw a new light in it. "Therefore i say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat and what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on..." (Matthew 6:25) These are the questions i asked myself after reading it: • "Is the above scripture saying i should not bother about my life or ensure i make something out of my life?" • "Does it mean i should just allow life happen to me and accept whatever it brings to my table (my life)"? I thought it that way because that verse is literally saying,  "you know what, just relax. God got you. You don't have to work or stress yourself. He'll take care of you as He does to the birds of the air and lilies of the field. (Vs 26 & 28)." But same Bible says we should work. The word of God critically downplays laziness and idleness. "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: T...

NOT JUST THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN

"I'm a very good Christian...a born again Christian at that." "I'm not just a regular Christian because I always go to church and partake in Christian activities." ...and you think that's enough reason to tag you a Christian beyond the ordinary? Please, before thinking you don't fall under the category of a regular Christian, I'd love you to read this article to the end with understanding. In many nations of the world, especially my resident country, Nigeria, many families and individuals acknowledge and believes in Christ which makes them Christians in a literal sense. It may be because it's a "religion" passed down as a family heritage or an influence from family members.  It may be because of christain social influences and networks. It can be exposure to christianity through education or basically for selfish motives (what they can benefit from God). Not all Christians are TRULY Christians in its true context. We ind...
